For the August 2023 event in Las Vegas, a new, collaborative programme of pre-event and live content will showcase both the importance of technology and its potential to unite different stakeholders across the fashion value chain.

Informa Markets Fashion and The Interline will once again be partnering to bring fashion technology to life at SOURCING at MAGIC, live in Las Vegas from 7th to 9th August 2023, and through both pre and post-event content collaborations.

At the show itself, The Interline will continue to host and curate an agenda of live sessions laser-focused on making fashion technology accessible, understandable, and actionable for the widest possible audience.

For brands, retailers, and producers who are already attending SOURCING at MAGIC or one of the two co-located shows – MAGIC and PROJECT – and for the growing delegation of digital decision-makers who now visit the shows specifically for the fashion technology programme, those live sessions will unlock the possibilities of technology in key strategic areas like design, sourcing, sustainability, retail and more.

From topic primers to deep-dive panel discussions and executive briefings, the live sessions will cater to a mix of different technology maturity levels, as well as covering multiple topics – all of which reflect technology’s role in bringing together the different components of the fashion value chain.

“It’s clearer today than ever that technology is not just a force for innovation and experimentation, but a foundational and necessary change to the core mechanisms of fashion,” says Ben Hanson, The Interline’s Editor-in-Chief. “This means that no matter what role you occupy, whether you own a small independent label, make multi-million dollar buying decisions for a major retailer, or are charged with digitising the operations of a specialised manufacturer, your role stands to benefit from technology – provided it’s smartly chosen and carefully adopted. Every link in the value chain that’s properly switched from analogue to digital is not just a standalone improvement, but can have a compounded benefit to the steps that happen before and after it.”

And building on the fashion technology presence established at two previous shows – August 2022 and February 2023, both in Las Vegas – notable fashion technology vendors have signed up to showcase their solutions at the August event.

“For software and service providers, SOURCING at MAGIC offers a range of opportunities to engage with an audience that spans the entire value chain, from executive decision-makers to individual designers,” says Andreu David, VP of SOURCING at MAGIC. “Our August event is a unique proposition in the fashion event calendar, offering stage sessions, exhibition space, and access to a fast-growing, open community that is passionate about finding new digital solutions to their major challenges. We are thrilled to see several fashion technology companies returning from previous shows, as well as new names joining the community.”

To help educate and engage that community outside the live event, the fashion-forward teams at Infoma Fashion Markets and The Interline will also soon be releasing a two-part series of downloadable briefings focused on Fashion Technology Fundamentals, covering two of fashion’s hottest technology topics. The first of the series will focus on Digital Product Creation (DPC) and the second on Sustainability/Supply Chain, and both briefings will be pitched at different personas across the fashion value chain.

“We’re thrilled to be able to continue working with the SOURCING at MAGIC team on producing new educational content this year,” adds Ben Hanson. “This partnership was one of the driving forces behind our smash-hit DPC Report, late last year, and as well as supporting the creation of the 2023 DPC Report, our teams will be working together to demonstrate how digital design, supply chain connectivity, and transparency affect everyone in fashion – as well as how technology can solve each party’s challenges as well as bringing everyone who works in fashion closer together.”

A complete agenda for the August event will be released in the near future. Both exhibitors and attendees can sign up here.

“We are really excited to be bringing as many people from across the fashion industry together as possible, and continuing to demonstrate technology’s role in futureproofing fashion,” concludes Andreu David. “Wherever you work in fashion, there has never been a more important time to break out of the silo mindset and explore ways to collaborate, and this August’s event will give everyone in fashion a chance feel like they have something to contribute as well as an easy way to discover the potential of technology through our partnership with Ben and the team at The Interline.”
