TOKYO, Japan (October 20, 2026) — YKK Corporation has developed LUXFLAT™ [1] zipper, a metal zipper for bags, and plans to launch it globally in November.

The LUXFLAT™ zipper features an innovative element shape and a specially developed tape that reduce the sliding resistance commonly found in standard metal zippers.

By creating a flatter element surface, sliding resistance has been reduced by over 60% [2] compared with standard metal zippers. Furthermore, the sleek, flat appearance of the zipper chain delivers a premium feel and a smoother touch. LUXFLAT™ contributes to further enhancing the quality of premium leather bags.

YKK will continue to develop products that deliver enhanced functionality while responding to evolving market needs and the values sought by society.
